- Change is the only constant -
"IMPERMANENCE: An Elemental Triptych" is a representation of three finite states, always repeated but never equal; bases of our reality, which we use as a reference of our conscious, remembered and imagined experiences; where the only constant is change.
Starting with two concepts: impermanence (an essential concept in Buddhist tradition) and the Heraclitian Ontology (represented in the Paradox of Theseus: "In the same river we enter and we do not enter, because we are and are not the same, neither we nor the river").
We have built this elementary triptych that transports us through three fundamental states: Chaos, Being and Rebirth; on a journey through the creation of existence.
The medium chosen for this experimental creation has been video-feedback, which allows us to dilute the borders between digital and analog, providing us with an almost infinite amount of images, rhythms, textures and colors.
This medium of magmatic consistency creates a distance from our daily reality, as a result of combining the digital and the analog, creating an amphibious materiality.
Video-feedback constitutes an alterity observable only through and old tube television and the ones and zeros that make the binary representation of that alterity in our digital cameras and computers.
